Maybole
I am puzzled as to the latest restrictions, the Rumour Mill is now alive with conflicting news. Are all bars and restaurants now closed for 2 weeks ? Has wearing a face covering when outside the house become compulsory ? Is there a Curfew ? Have there been over 100 new infections with several deaths in Chiang mai in the last few days ? I find many exaggerations.

jak2002003
Some social media fake news I hope. I was at our local village bar and they were all talking about this too. I can't find any real news about it though. Everyone was sitting 2 meters apart, had sanitizer out, masks when leaving or arriving. People saying there has been an outbreak in CM, and restaurants not allowed to serve alcohol.
Maybole
Village Paw Luang made a long announcement at 1830 this evening containing all the above.

Popular Post brommers
Yes the bars and restaurants are closed for 2 weeks at least Yes it is compulsory to use the Thai Chana or Mor Chana app No there have not been 100 cases in Chiang Mai, not even in total since the start of the pandemic Yes face masks are compulsory when leaving your home And yes social media including TV is full of utter rubbish as usual. Happy New Year. It's going to be a long one! 5

skorts
The local bar in Changklan we got to cannot sell alcohol for 2 weeks. The local restaurant we go to has been told they cannot serve alcohol up to and including 31st January. Posts by other restaurants in Chiang Mai on Facebook confirm this. lt seems odd why the timescales for not being able to serve alcohol are different in bars and restaurants. Popular Post EricTh
It's because of all the relaxation that there is a second wave. Even if it is not closed, one shouldn't go to crowded places and always wear your mask. 3 2

DrPhibes
Unless something has changed in the last 24 hrs TAT shows this for Chiang Mai restrictions for alcohol: + All self-service food outlets (shabu and BBQ) to switch to table service or seek prior approval for self-service options. Alcoholic beverages cannot be consumed at food outlets or restaurants, from 23.00-05.00 Hrs. Have the restaurants been misinformed?
