Commuters will now be paying a fare of Bt15 for the BTS Gold Line running from Krung Thon Buri and Klong San stations.

The line, which was launched on December 15, provided free services for one month in line with the Bangkok governor’s policy.

Commuters can use their BTS Skytrain passes or Rabbit cards for the line.

The Gold Line, an automated people mover, serves as a feeder line between the BTS Silom line and Iconsiam shopping centre.

Statistics over the past month showed an average of 10,000 passengers used the line daily, with the heaviest traffic of people at the Charoen Nakhon station. Though after the new wave of Covid-19 infections, the number of passengers dropped to 3,000 per day.

The BTS Green Line extension from Ha Yaek Lat Phrao and Khu Khot stations also opened for service on December 15. An average of 150,000 passengers are expected to use this line, though the number dropped to 80,000 per day after the new wave of infections. This service is still free as authorities have not set a fare yet.

Haven't all previous stored value BTS cards been replaced by Rabbit by this point?
