Restaurants, pubs and karaoke bars may soon be able to operate in some form of normality with the Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) set to decide on easing more restrictions in Thailand.

BANGKOK (Reuters) - Thailand is targeting the immunisation of 19 million people against the coronavirus in a first phase of inoculations starting on Feb. 14, the prime minister said on Wednesday, amid criticism the government has been slow in rolling out vaccines.

The Constitutional Court ordered Democrat MP Thepthai Senpong to give up his seat in Parliament on Wednesday, after he was sentenced to two years in prison for fraud during the Nakhon Si Thammarat mayoral election in 2014.

BANGKOK (Reuters) - Thailand's manufacturing output in December dropped a bigger- than-expected 2.44% from a year earlier as a fresh wave of COVID-19 infections hit business activity, the industry ministry said on Wednesday.

PHUKET: A woman remains unconscious in hospital after what is believed to have been a tyre blowout saw the car she was travelling spin out of control and hit a motorbike on the bypass road last night (Jan 26). After hitting the motorbike, the car rolled and then slammed into an entrance ramp to a petrol station, sending the woman flying out of the car’s rear window.

Commerce Ministry adjusts rice export plan; focuses on online trading

BANGKOK (NNT) - Due to the impact of the initial outbreak of COVID-19, Thailand exported only 5.72 million tons of rice, worth 3.7 billion dollars US in 2020, falling well short of the 6.5-million-ton target.

Whale skeleton found in Samut Sakhon is 3,380 years old

BANGKOK (NNT) - The Department of Mineral Resources reports that an ancient whale skeleton, discovered in a layer of clay sediment in Amphaeng subdistrict of Ban Phaeo district, Samut Sakhon province, on November 6 last year, is about 3,380 years old. The department will use this discovery to study the future climate scenarios.
