The Craft Beer Association of Thailand have come up with a series of proposals for both patrons and servers in bars.

They hope their ideas will be adopted by the CCSA and allow the opening of bars in Bangkok.

They include limiting the size and quantity of drinks, allowing patrons only an hour and a half in the bar and putting bar staff behind partitions.

It's a far cry from a friendly pint down at your local - but it may be the only way for those desperate for a drink in the capital to imbibe.

Earlier in the week in a publicity stunt at Government House the Craft Beer Association tipped their unsellable product in a wheely bin.

Now they have come up with their own ideas to the Covid authorities for signs to be posted in bars.

For patrons, apart from the usual temperature checks, hand gels  and masks, they propose:

No clinking of glasses

No sharing of glasses

No dancing

No shouting

Drinking in shifts limited to 1 and a half hours with only two servings in that time

Limiting beer and cider to 600 ml

Wine to 300 ml

Spirits to 100 ml

and cocktails to 355 ml.

Staff would have to sign forms each day, not go to work if they feel sick, work in shifts of one and a half hours, do cleaning with proper cleaners as well as follow the usual protocols.

In addition there should be partitions at the bar and next to the cashier.

Infographics on their Facebook site gave the information with admin saying that customers should stay tuned for a response from the CCSA, Thailand's covid response committee.

Personally, I would support almost anything that these folk suggested in order to get their businesses up and running again. They need help.

Pub 1 - 600 ml

Pub 2 - 600 ml

Pub 3 etc etc

Tipped their beer in a wheelie bin .!

Was there a Rugby team in town ..

In normal times, I would laugh these guys out of the building.

But these are desperate times, and desperate times call for desperate measures.

This will simply enforce a pub crawl........had two beers?...okay off we go...where next?.....might be a good idea actually.

or go next door.. ????

It's the usual Thai only thinking of step 1 thing. The fact that you could then visit another bar and therefore negate the entire intention of the restriction would not have occurred to them.

It's called the "ripple effect" not heard of yet in LOS
