Area Quarantine

Featured Replies

Sorry, if this has already been addressed: thaiger.com has a news item that beginning in April, date unspecified, there will be "Area Quarantine" for arrivals. It seems Pattaya is among the chosen locations. Anybody knows more?

A 14 day quarantine when returning home will make it hard for this plan to yield results.

58 koreans arrived on 22.2 to sri panva resort on phuket, golfing holiday.

probably this very same resort, and this island, will be developing the next stage.

That is the very expensive hotel, use to be 30k/night, for quarantine likely more. Possibly organised guests have negotiated group booking and extended stay discounts, but details are unknown.

So this is the prospect for thai international tourism - rich asians coming for sports holidays.

Plus work nomads escaping next waves of covid in countries they are now. But they are more workers than tourists. They were already coming to thailand for the last few months and doing vlogs on youtube and fb.

There won't be mass tourism, until everybody is vaccinated on some islands (phuket and smaller around). I can't imagine in pattaya, chiang mai this year
