Nursing School Lecturer

Featured Replies

I'm looking for a forum member who teaches at a thai nursing school.

Specifically, on behalf of a friend who is an advisor at a nursing school in Laos, we are looking for recommendations for basic, up to date thai language nursing textbooks. Since mostly they don't exist in lao language, thai texts will be used, but advice on good quality and uptodate texts is hard to come by.

Anyone who can help please pm me,

You might find something in a bookstore at a university with a medical faculty.

Try the Chula bookstore- a good branch in Siam Square, as well as one actually on the Chula campus.

Thank you for the bookstore advice.

I think what she is asking is actually recommendations for good textbooks in thai. she apparently has found access to some funds, and wants to ensure the right books are chosen and bought, but doesn't have the Thai language to assess which are the right books,\.

Some apparently are either too 'old' , others far too complex/scientific for basic nurses training. So she's looking for an introduction to someone who has both good thai as well as good english, to consult about what are good textbooks. She approached a few schools but has had no response.

I think she probably also wants to ensure the money is actually spent on the books before her assignment ends early next year.

You might consider asking a doctor or two. Especially in Bangkok, they're usually pretty good in both English & Thai, and I bet they would either know the books you need or know the right person to ask. Call up one or two of the international hospitals; if you make it clear that it's a kind of charity/medical type of thing, I bet someone would volunteer a little of his time and advice.

Try the MOPH (Ministry of Public Health) International Relations Department: Boromarajanoni Colleges of Nursing.. This is the govt...system of nursing education.. They might even be interested in an MOU.. na..Most of the text books have been adapted from western versions and a significant mix of their own productions.

The have been around for many years; thus, here is an excellent source of practical an in the Thai sense up to date in nursing education. The programs offer a Bachelor's in Nursing Science..

They even have programs in English teaching for nursing students.. and run some international programs in English.
