More than 255,000 people in Thailand’s northern provinces have received treatment for nose and eye irritation since the beginning of this year, mainly caused by excessive PM2.5 dust in the atmosphere.

(Reuters) - Ecuador has reached a preliminary agreement with a unit of Thailand's state-run PTT PCL to extend to 2024 the payment period of an oil-for-loan agreement that was originally planned to be fully paid through 2022, the South American country's energy minister, Rene Ortiz, said on Thursday.

Denmark, Norway and Iceland suspend AstraZeneca COVID shots after blood clot reports

COPENHAGEN (Reuters) - Health authorities in Denmark, Norway and Iceland on Thursday suspended the use of AstraZeneca's COVID-19 vaccine following reports of the formation of blood clots in some people who had been vaccinated.

Bangkok’s Lumpini boxing stadium to reopen Saturday for online and broadcast audiences only

The Army’s Lumpini boxing stadium, in the Ramintra area of Bangkok, which was closed in March last year after being identified as the source of a cluster of COVID-19 infections, is scheduled to host its first bout in almost 12 months this Saturday, but only for online and TV audiences.

Novavax vaccine 96% effective against original coronavirus, 86% vs British variant in UK trial

(Reuters) - Novavax Inc's COVID-19 vaccine was 96% effective in preventing cases caused by the original version of the coronavirus in a late-stage trial conducted in the United Kingdom, the company said on Thursday, moving it a step closer to regulatory approval.
