Two men arrested and charged with stealing Garlic from South Pattaya shop.

On Tuesday Night, Police Lieutenant Colonel Santi from Pattaya Police Station made his way to a small shop behind the South Pattaya Road Market after venders had detained two men accused of stealing 50kgs of Garlic.

Khun Wisan aged 29 and Khun Sumpun aged 35 were later arrested by Police and taken to Pattaya Police Station with the stolen Garlic. Khun Sutum aged 35 owns the shop where the items were allegedly stolen from. He was preparing to close his shop and realized that a substantial amount of garlic had been stolen.

He searched the area and saw two men attempting to sell the stolen garlic. The two suspects claimed that they wanted to raise some money to buy Whisky. They are now behind bars awaiting a court appearance.

This was easy for the local plod - they just followed their noses.

Wow. A Lieutant Colonel.

In Canada, a case of this magnitude would have been assigned to a 1st or 2nd year Constable. Then again, some of the most senior, experienced and capable officers in the RCMP are Corporals. Very few senior NCOs or officers at all.

How much money could you make from selling 50kg garlic. Not too much I shouldn't think, but on the other hand you don't need too much to buy pop do you?

Maybe they were planning on selling the garlic to certain TV members that feel a certain mod breathing down their necks ?
