It is reasonably well-known that the government surveils TV quite closely. TV itself makes a point of saying so (well, implying so anyway). What is less well-known is where the 'crimping' power comes from whereby they are able to do anything about it if the forum content does not meet with it's approval.

 

Thanks to an email from another member, I now know what the leverage is that is used, and if correct, then it reflects well upon nobody involved. I also know (from the same source) how follow-up action against any member is predicated. and that does not reflect well upon anyone involved either.

 

I fully expect to be barred from this forum today and that this post to be removed - probably as ; 'off-topic'. It's not a biggie; like others, I have watched what's been happening and how the price tag has been recovered. Or not. There are alternatives.

Vaccination is not a passport to travel, as vaccinated or not you could be carrying and spreading the virus.

 

Quarantine is needed for all passengers, and PCR test negative.

 

Vaccinated or not does not make any difference to the spread of the disease................ in fact, letting vaccinated people travel without PCR testing and no quarantine will increase the spread.

The vaccines do not have 100% efficacy.

 

It is common knowledge to anyone with a brain that vaccinated people can catch, carry and spread the virus.  

 

Most vaccines will only claim to protect the person themselves from getting severe disease. It does not stop you getting the virus, carrying it or spreading it.

When they say Pfizer is 95% effective..........it means 5% of the vaccinated people get COVID.

 

When they say Sinovac is 70% effective.....it means 30% of the vaccinated people get COVID.

 

 

THAT IS SCIENTIFIC PROOF.

 

Being vaccinated is no 100% guarantee you will not get, cannot carry and thus SPREAD.......Covid.

Your original post stated quite clearly that vaccinated or not ALL people will infect others, and now in order to try to back up your own mis-information you turn to efficacy and again get it wrong.

 

The efficacy rates are all about whether or not vaccinated people will catch Covid19, and the percentages are those who could catch it after vaccination, it has nothing to do with getting infected, having no symptoms, and passing it on after vaccination,  that is an entirely different study.

 

The current ongoing scientific research shows that 30 to 50% of vaccinated people do NOT infect others, which looks pretty good considering this research is still in it’s infancy because of the slowness of vaccination rollout in countries around the world.

 

So yes, I do understand “efficacy “ and having been a part of the Oxford AstraZeneca Covid testing and research program for the last 10 months I think I have a fair understanding of many other things concerning this very real and horrible disease, but I would not profess to knowing even a tiny bit more than the scientists.

 

In conclusion, If you live in Thailand I can understand the fears expressed here about tourists bringing covid in but remember that the majority of infections to date in Thailand have come from unvaccinated  Thai returners and Myan Mar border hoppers, so if you have not been vaccinated you should get it done ASAP because currently if you socialise you are potentially a very high risk spreader.

Current research also shows that age groups between 10 and 20 year olds are the biggest spreaders with 20 to 40 year old bringing up the rear, these are people who have not yet been vaccinated and because they are continuing to disregard the no mixing rules are thus infecting those around them.
