any idea to gain a residency certificate (RC) before 90 days report?

Featured Replies

Hi everyone, just found this forum. This is a amazing place, it's great to find it

about one month ago, I arrived in Thailand. till now I have been in thailand for less than a month, and I just rented an apartment.

and I need to use RC for some follow-up procedures in the near future.

However, I was told that this RC thing can only be applied for at least 75 (90-15) days after entering Thailand, and it will also take several weeks to get it in hand after the application.

Is there any way to apply now?

BTW, my country has no embassy/consulate in Thailand. ????

If your intending to apply for RC in Bangkok you will require to have done a 90 day report bkk previously.

BTW if you indicate what "follow up procedures" are you might get some advice. For example if it's to open Bank Account then agent can arrange that. If it's eg Divers licence then you need RC or embassy letter etc

so if I apply RC in some place out of BKK, then this is possible?

but if my apartment is in bkk, then it could also be hard for me to gain it in other place...

You can only obtain a RC in the immigration office where you live.

You would need to do change of address (TM30) etc. Messy to say the least.

Consider stating why you want/need the RC and you will receive better advice re your options.

They probably have a partner embassy that deals with such things. What's your nationality?

The RC at MTT is mailed out with tracking. They say allow 2 weeks. I recently applied for one and it arrived in post 3 days. Cost 200baht. In some other imm offices they do it on the spot.

Certainly not several weeks.

BTW, in another current thread where you ask about agent details.......think you will get much better advice without the smokescreens and just state what you need.
