May I ask how many people who currently contribute to the TVF are here in Thailand. I am intrigued that during Thailand working and playing hours very few people seem to be present on the forum. Am I missing something here?

I have had similar thoughts Hammer. 'specialy get annoyed when a contributor says something like ' I am glad I don't live in Thailand anymore'.  I can understand folk asking about visas etc or saying ' What crappy weather we are having right now in the North '.

But ' Look at all that rain , at least here in Oz the sun is out'.

There yer go my 50 Satangs worth.

If you have never been here or have no intention of coming here go to Japanvisa.com.

By their very nature, discussion boards of this type tend to be long on people with questions (mostly newcomers), and short on people with answers (mostly old timers). The newcomers get a benefit; they learn something they didn't know before.  Old timers don't need to ask many questions, and get no benefit from helping strangers.

There is also the 'spiral of decline" effect. If people come here and see little or nothing that is new, they gradually come here less frequently.  This effect spreads from one person to the next.

I am in Thailand, where I have lived for 25 years.
