Young English Football Fan Dies of Overdose in Thailand: Inquest Reveals

Found in his Bangkok hotel room on September 22 last year, the cause of death was ruled as morphine toxicity by North Yorkshire Coroner's Court. A GoFundMe page pays tribute to Connor, a devoted York City supporter, as a deeply loved son, brother, and friend, celebrated for his vibrant personality and ability to spread joy among those around him. "He was more than a friend – he was a source of laughter, happiness, and unforgettable memories," the tribute states. In honour of Connor, York City fans organised a minute’s applause in the 23rd minute of their match against Eastleigh on September 28, reflecting the impact of his life on the community. York manager Adam Hinshelwood conveyed the club's deepest condolences, emphasising their efforts in respecting Connor’s memory during this sombre time. Minstermen co-chairman Matt Uggla expressed his heartfelt sympathies, echoing the sentiments of the SC Block Reds supporters group, who recalled fond memories with Connor. Despite these tributes, specific circumstances surrounding Abbott’s death remain undisclosed by his family or coroner Jon Heath.
