But for the over 50's, weaned on; Meccano, AirFix, Keil Kraft kits, balsa cement, Macclesfield PAW diesel motors, clockwork escapements, and Futaba servos... who are perhaps, rekindling innocent creative skills, I've good news; Chiang Rai has "Anna's Hobby shop" on the old Phaholyotin road.

Please teach your progeny the joys of making and assembling objects with; bare hands, glue, nuts and ever-so-tiny bolts.

You'd think it'd be no trouble to find a nicad pen-cell battery box in the digital metropolis of CR...  think again!

It took me three days.

I couldn't look in MegaHome because my, "Leave Me Alone!" t-shirt was being washed.

The Chinese electrical audio shop in town, said "Mai-me", the ubiquitous "Advice" bods shook their heads in unison, similarly, stalls hawking flashing LED strips, and windscreen-wiper blades sent me home empty-handed.

But Anna had one, for 40 baht. (Cf, Lazada's costs 18 baht, plus 29 baht postage, with lashings of +very greasy+ adverts and spam, spam, spam... no thank you Laz!) 

Whilst handing over two greenies, I noticed trays of DC motors from 3 to 24 volts with adapters for propellers, and drill bits.

So get your soldering iron and scalpel out, and start educating young Bertie.
