Interesting. I assume Filipino medical workers would not come to the UK to work if their pensions were frozen then the NHS would collapse. But the Government is quite happy to screw over British pensioners. They are of course quite happy to tax UK state pension and private pension and levy inheritance tax. -

A relationship that is taking a nosedive, then the only stuff that matters is: sanity, wallet and any important documents. All this of course should be at the forefront of any long term planning dependent on a relationship while living in a country on a temporary immigration status, anything at any moment unexpectedly can happen. As for myself, I can cutout at any moment and move to the other side of town or another province if the wife goes berserk. -

new Wise account details, bank says fraud
I agree that, at our age, we don't need things like this sprung on us when a bit of well timed, advance notice, giving each of us easy access to our "new" account details, with a changeover timeline /date would have made it far easier. I'm sure things will settle back to normal in due course. BTW, I've sent them (Wise Support ) a strongly worded message pointing out the above, and how many expats here in TH, using their services, have been left bewildered by their tardiness, especially in the light of their respected Aus banks ,like Wespac, informing us that this 'most likely ' fraud !!- 1
