Picture captcha when starting TVF

Featured Replies

As of today, when opening TVF in FF on Windows, I get the picture CAPTCHA, where I have to verify I'm human and have to click pictures.

Anyone else?

It seems that I get this about every website I try to open today. Must have been at least 10 websites only today.

Any idea what this may cause, since I very rarely got this in the past.

Think it maybe some malware. Running an online malware scan now, and it detected already 6 objects, while it has only just started the scan

See what I mean, this is just by refreshing the page. Have got at least 20 of these captchas this evening, including on websites I visit several times a day.

After this verification I get 2 pages of images I have to select.

Anyone can tell me what is going on, or how to sort it?

Since it appears you are having the same problem on other sites than Thai Visa I am moving your topic to the IT forum.

A troubleshooting step would be to try the same sites in a different browser to determine if the issue is with your Firefox.

"online malware scan" is a scam showing fake information forcing you to buy their fake antivirus.

You should download a free/trial version of any trusted antivirus and delete it after first run.

concerning the topic question - there could be a malware either on your computer or on your router. Try to reboot the router too, usually router malware does not survive a reboot.

also it could be just a bad luck and you've got a "dirty" IP from your internet provider, e.g. I'm getting such captchas many times more often with Truemove than with DTAC.

Never for me.

But as soon as I use a VPN I get it very often from Google and sometimes other sites.

What is your IP provider?

Are you accessing with a Thai based IP address?

Do you use a VPN or comparable tool ?

No malware etc.

Completely normal if you access with certain IP addresses.

(protection against denial of service attacks)

You are queried in Dutch language ("Ik ben en mens")?

"I am human", "I am not a robot", I see that so often when using VPN.

I don't use a VPN.

The online scan pointed me to the location of the infected files, and it were all uninstall.exe.

I didn't reboot my PC after they were removed, so maybe that is why I still got the Captcha's even after the scan.

This morning I rebooted my PC and router, so I got a new IP, and so far I haven't got any captchas yet

That makes sense. Wait and see.
