Just a guess; but I bet you and your friend did somewhere in Europe last year. ( Asia, for a first stab at it, a tad unusual )

Bank on spending the same as you did there ( daily basis ) and you will have enough left over for the pressies and the duty free. Baht a strong currency now, things aint as cheap as they used to be.

Assuming you never ''did Europe'' last year, I would say around £300 per week will be enough for you to enjoy the things you mention and to have money left over for gifts/duty free etc.

Are you on a package ie no hotel to pay for?

If it was me I would say 100 quid a day for what you want to do although for some reason I spend more than that when on holiday and nowhere near that on business there!

Suggestion..if you have an atm card for a Iarge bank then you dont need to "take money with you". Just have a budget figure in mind, take some cash money, then take from the atm as and when needed.

Not a bad idea.

However do not be lazy with your card. Thailand remains a mainly cash soceity and sadly for good reason. I have had my card cloned twice in the last year in jolly Patters and I thought I was being careful !!

Use the card idea by all means, but get your cash from major banks, never carrying too much and pay with that daily cash allowance whenever possible. Do not hand the card over if you can help it to anyone. You will come unstuck if your card administrator suddenly cuts you off from your one and only source of funds, if someone is attempting to use the number in South America, to buy a BMW.

Hi guys.

Im travelling with missclogs to Thailand in July. We already have booked and piad for our hotel. So it's just spending money. Yes we were in Bulgaria last yr, so this is our first time in Asia. We both want to see some of the tourist delights of Thailand (tiger temple, elephant safari, temples, bangkok etc) and also enjoy good drunken nights in Pattaya. So any ideas on spending money? :o
