A Thai woman arrested in Prachinburi admitted to accepting 5,000 baht to marry an Indian and falsely claim she was living with him. 

 

Niraj wanted to extend his stay in Bangkok by pretending he was properly married and living with a Thai. He was arrested earlier.

 

The paper trail led to Muang district where Siriporn, 39, admitted being paid the money, falsifying a rental agreement to fool immigration and making false statements during the visa extension process at Region 1 in Bangkok. 

 

They have both been charged.

 

IB chief Lt-Gen Sompong Chingduang and his deputies also presented news about the latest arrests of illegal immigrants, reported Daily News.

In Prachuap Khiri Khan a Thai man called Kriangkrai, 49, admitted to being paid 1,500 baht to transport five Myanmar men and one woman from Ranong to Samut Sakhon. 

 

The illegals had snuck over a natural border in the south. They said they paid an agent 3,000 baht each.

 

Meanwhile in Nakhon Phanom in the north east border areas immigration have apprehended 52 Laos and Cambodian nationals who were headed for work opportunities in inner areas. Two other people from Laos were also apprehended.

Bloody Hell - 1,000 baht for short time, 5,000 baht for life time ....

Don't you need to show your marriage cert when applying for an extension of stay based on marriage? If so, they were not pretending to be married but were legally married, or was the marriage cert a forgery?  

 

I have never had to apply for an extension based on marriage so if someone can clarify please?

5'000 for a lifetime sounds pretty cheap - my wife has more than that off me every week...and after 30 years of marriage, that adds up!! Does anyone have this chicks number, i could save myself a fortune.

We got married in the UK in 2000 and I have been doing marriage extensions for the past couple of years. 

 

I had to get my UK marriage certificate verified by the UK embassy and then get an official translation of that.

Then I had to go to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at Chang Wattana to get it verified, both original and translated copy.

After than there was no problem. I scanned the documents and stored the scans on my pc and the originals are in the safe.

 

I also went to the amphur to get my yellow house book, plus a couple of times since to get the Kor Ror 2 and 22 for my extension and last week for my "Pink ID card".

This is clearly serious stuff - they are using sticks to point with!

Yes, the committee's involved with the new and improved ' 2mtr, safe distance, retracting Covid pointer/stick, are all VERY chuffed.

Reminds me of a 100 baht fine many years ago.....

 

1.  stop, check documents

2.  100 cops come to the "scene"

3.  check my license.  

4.  pictures, thousands of them

5.  off to poster shop.......color, life size.....billboard size...

6.  re-enactment

7.  re-enactment with translator and pointing fingers

8.  pay fine

9. wai times 2000

10.  TV appearance, 3D posters, book deals......

 

i've never seen such over-the-top stuff over such small things

 

comical.  imagine if he was one one day overstay....OMG OMG 

This is a long-standing pipeline of Indian guys posing in fake marriages, usually by paying a go between who arranges the deal with poor women from the northeastern region. Exactly why there are so many hurdles for marriage extensions. Everybody suffers because of the scammers.

I do believe that there in orange is the “Thai princess” in question.

 

No wonder immigration took an interest when they found out she was married. Highly suspicious I would say.

Strange, the Indian doesn't look like a typical Indian. He looks more like East-Asian.

Yep, those poor women from the northeastern region make up the majority of foreigner marriages.

So what?  Applying for an extension of stay based on a marriage of convenience is illegal!  Sham, but legal marriages don't count.   Forging other documents to support that illegal "marriage" application is illegal also.
