I bought a couple of Samsung units a few months ago. One 9,000 BTU and one 12,000 BTU. They were 13k baht and 15k baht respectively, installed. I paid an additional 500 baht for a mounting bracket for one of them. Both seem to be working very well and are very quiet.

thank you for a quick reply hope we get a few good replies like this

cant remember the exact sizes, got 3 mistubishi from home pro.

3 guys delivered and fitted for free, they spent all day sunday, arrived about 9 in the morning and finished about 5 oclock in the evening.

felt a bit guilty, the mrs palmed them off with 500 baht between them, they seemed happy enough.

never had a problem with the units, the same guys come every 6 months to check them.

After considering the various threads on the forume we decided to go for mitsibishi. The reason being mitisbisihi seems to be considered a top brand easily repaired and serviced with low breakdown records hence there seems to be a higher price to be paid. Here are the prices we have paid

9000 BTU 17000BAHT

13000 BTU 19900

18000 BTU 35900

24000 BTU 47000

The 9000 and 13000 btus are not the non allergy filter type they work out at 25500 for a 9000 btu one but the 18000 one is.Lets hope we got it right although we did consider samsung panasonic etc we had no reason not to go for these brands obviousley a little cheaper it was just the reputation held by many on mitsibishi in thailand

If you want the very best in quality and want them quiet and reliable then you absolutely cannot go wrong with Mitsubishi. (Applies to their fridges too).

We will never fit anything other than Mitsubishi anymore. They're among the higher priced ones, but it's SO worth it. Of course in rooms that are used less (guest room, etc) you could go with something cheaper like LG or Hitachi; For your own bedroom though, do yourself a favour. :o
