If there were only an average of; let's say; 2 more deaths per day in every province (77 provinces) maybe a dozen or so in the 4 or 5 biggest cities would social media really be ablaze? Probably not but all of a sudden you have an extra 200 or so deaths per day, 1400 per week. Not thousands every day per your argument, but still a hefty increase on what is being reported.

Almost correct but still alot.

But then how do you explain the still relatively low numbers of cases and deaths?  Surely the disastrous handling of the crisis in countries like the UK, USA, Italy, India, Brazil are far more worthy of study of what not to do.

Bluntly ? UK,  USA fatter populace, older populace and better health care successfully keeping older and sick people going longer. When unknown virus comes along with no vaccine it wipes out any benefits made and kills those deliberately abusing their bodies. Success if keeping people going, has turned into a disaster later.

The money quote from this article:

The immigration Commissioner said that most Chinese visitors still in Thailand arrived before the viral outbreak in Wuhan.”

Now that is even more fantasy and delusion on your part. You have just stated “I said on this site over a year ago that the wuhan tourists" etc etc , yet your profile states you did not join the forum until 15th December 2020. Are you somehow in a parallel universe to the rest of us ? ????????

I posted a quote from someone else. Please try to keep up.

Well that's strange they were your words, can't you remember now what you wrote ?

Instead of playing internet games, let’s get to the core implied assertion: that the Thai government for some reason invited large numbers of Chinese into Thailand after the Wuhan outbreak was publicly known.

I was here at the time, and saw the Chinese disappearing from Thailand in late January. Wuhan airport was locked down January 23.

The vast numbers of Chinese still in Thailand after February 1 had been in Thailand before the outbreak.

The assertion is false.

Province by province breakdown of the new COVID cases reported in Thailand on Saturday, along with the prior day's chart for comparison. If a province is not listed, that means it didn't have any new cases reported for that day.

So what ? how many people are needed to bring an infection into the country ? It only takes one and the fact the statement regarding most Chinese were here before the Wuhan outbreak ( October 2019 ) is totally unsubstantiated, or do you have proof they were ? And most indicates not all. And by they way you never answered directly to my earlier post or is that you have no answer ?

How does the western region go from 700 to 100 cases a day overnight. It defies what we know about Covid. Lack of testing can really be the only answer.

Because of the earlier identification of a hotspot in Phetchaburi.

You make a valid point . However Thailand's success in containing the virus should not encourage complacency .

You are now answering a question that no one has asked. It is established that some Chinese in Thailand infected locals in January.

That is not the current issue.

So you can not answer the point I stressed to you. Thought you couldn't as your imagination must be working overtime. So for the avoidance of doubt here it is and will you answer it ? If not please desist from your nonsense.

During the government's English language COVID news briefing on Saturday, government spokesman Natapanu Nopakun said a new website is being launched for foreign nationals living in Chiang Mai province to register for the government's vaccination program.

Nopakun provided no other details on Saturday on the government's supposed campaign set to start June 7 for foreign nationals living in Thailand to register for the government's COVID vaccination program. He urged foreign nationals to contact officials in their local provinces as to how and where they would be able to register.

In Bangkok, thus far, one of only two publicly designated vaccination centers for foreign nationals, Vimut Hospital, abruptly shut down after several days an online pre-registration process that it launched last Saturday, without providing any information on if or when it would reopen registrations.  Those who managed to pre-register thus far haven't been given any update on if/when they can actually be vaccinated.

The other vaccination center for foreign nationals in Bangkok, the Bangrak Vaccination and Health Center, has made no comment and provided no information whatsoever since Nopakun first announced the site last weekend. Supposedly, foreign nationals living in Thailand will be able to register for the government's vaccination program using just their home country passport without needing any Thai ID.

Details on the Chiang Mai registration process follow:

"Breaking News: COVID-19 Vaccination Request for Foreigners Residing in Chiang Mai

The Governor’s Office and Chiang Mai Provincial Public Health Office have announced that an online electronic form is now available for foreigners residing in Chiang Mai, to fill in if they would like to receive COVID-19 vaccination in Chiang Mai. This form is not for making a vaccination appointment but applicants will be notified at a later date when vaccines are available and appointments can be made.

Please note that Visa Type question is optional and data in the form will only be used for Public Health business.

Here is the link to the form: www.cm-healthcare.net/CMCVR/   "

Of the 4,803 new cases that were found in the past 24 hours:

- 1,421 were found via tests at medical facilities

- 629 via proactive tests at known clusters

- 2,702 via tests at prisons

- 51 imported cases

- 34 fatalities

https://twitter.com/ThaiEnquirer/status/1398513292482531329

So the amount of people who walk in hospitals and get tested increased. That is worrisome. Wonder how donderman responds to that
