BANGKOK, May 31 (TNA) – The Private Hospital Association has not set the start of COVID-19 vaccination with the Moderna vaccine as it is waiting for details about an available amount and the time of its import from the United States.

 

Dr Chalerm Harnphanich, chief executive officer of Bangkok Chain Hospital (BCH) and president of the association, said the association was waiting for the price of the vaccine and the import schedule by Zuellig Pharma that represented Moderna in Thailand.

 

He expected the Government Pharmaceutical Organization to conclude this week the price including logistics.

Here is yet another example  of lying to the Thailand people . 2 weeks ago you put out a statement that Moderna (5000) jabs would be available to private hospitals at a price of 3500 THB for 2 jabs. Suggestion, Why dont you secure a order , pay for it and release a delivery date and then make your proud statement? Every time you put out bad information you loose credibility with everyone in Thailand.    

Of course not since they may be delaying all but the Chinese vaccines.

Moderna won't coming for long.

The wife and I spent the entire pandemic in Thailand but got fed up with the vaccine situation early May. We get our second Pfizer shots in Massachusetts on Friday.

At the risk of being burned by incindiary replies I feel obligated to state the obvious once again.

If you are not exposed you cannot be infected and don't need a vaccine immediately.

 

Maybe I'm speaking for the 'silent majority', but myself and my Thai GF simply avoid going out. We go out twice a month for groceries but lately only get them from local fresh markets early in the day before the crowds come. Not total quarantine but pretty close.

 

We are both hesitant about most of the available vaccines (are there really any?) and plan to wait for western ones to be available, fully understanding that this could take many months.

 

It makes no sense to me to travel to America to get vaccinated; the logistics are insurmountable to me.

 

While it's true we live very comfortably outside of town, and are both home bodies, we still miss the occasional shopping trip or restaurant visit. Overall all though we choose to just stay out of the chaos and anxiety by staying at home.

 

I understand that many are more social or have external obligations that we don't. I'm just reminding folks that there are options to taking immediate action amid the confusion and misinformation scrum happening now.

 

If the situation remains the same at year end I may revise my strategy. Until then I'll just chill.

 

 

This guy is giving you much better information on the actual status than any of the government spokespeople.

 

Anyway if the Vaxart oral vaccine gets approved before I can get a vaccination here I will have my family try and mail me some.  But it looks like Vaxart will be towards the end of this year too.  Just starting Phase 2 trials now.

Was considering the same. Plane tickets are affordable. Hotels in SF for 2 weeks and vaccine costs are fine. But all the trouble of returning to Thailand after that... ufff...
