Billy Bloggs
Does having no mirrors make it unroadworthy(it should as it damgerous when they turn their head and body to check behind or move without checking) Having straight through exhaust Im sure there are many more especially in regard to tyres. All the RTP would have to do is fine all those that are and they would have enough money to have every officer mobile on a bike within a month, plus save many lives. 2
Popular Post canthai55
Here the bikes condition is far less a cause for death and injuries than the way they are operated. Edited June 4, 2021 by canthai55
Popular Post Dmaxdan
I believe that if a vehicle or motorcycle can move under its own power then it is deemed roadworthy. Last year my car had its first MOT check and I got complemented on the fact that the brakes actually worked! That kind of sums it up really. 5
Popular Post BenDeCosta
Those idiotic straight through exhausts are definitely picked up by the police, by wife's son has had his bike confiscated twice because he insists on using one. Mirrors I don't think anyone cares about. Tyres - as long as the canvas isn't showing I don't think anyone worries about that either. 1

About right for round my neck of the woods, about the only standard I haven't seen is a coal burning steam engine, there's plenty run on oil though based on the black smoke they belch out. 3
Popular Post darksidedog
A larger problem I have found than the unroadworthy state of the bike is the unworthy condition of the person operating said bike on the road. As we have all seen, they often prove to be a deadly combination.
johng
I've noticed a bit of a "strictening" of rules at the ( MOT) motor vehicle testing centres for car and trucks not really so much for motorbikes they check the frame and engine numbers, start it up measure exhaust loudness sometimes/maybe an emissions test if its not billowing smoke it will most likely pass , definitely/maybe check if the lights and hooter work. Asquith Production
I think the first question to be asked are mirrors a legal requirement on scooters. If not then you have answered your question. If required then it should make the vehicle unroadworthy.

seabass69
If the horn doesn’t work then it’s unroadworthy. No brakes, no mirrors, no tyres no worries ????
mrfill
Why on earth would they want to be mobile on a bike when they can be in a nice comfy air conditioned office?

Lacessit
I would not know, all my vehicles are maintained regularly. Perhaps this is what passes for unroadworthy in Thailand.

Please explain what " Damgerous" and "Im sure" mean? You are obviously not a biker and anyone who is trained and/or responsible when riding a bike will know not to rely on mirrors alone and always does a look behind before any manoeuvre. I suggest you take some English Language courses and God Forbid you ever try to ride a Motorbike! Edited June 5, 2021 by Mario666

In the jungle
One of my bikes is ten years old. I bought it new from a Honda dealer. The numbers on the numberplate do not match the numbers in the green book. They are one digit out. No government test station has ever noticed that. I will sort it out if they ever do. Kiwithl
My motorbike numbers match the book. But the book says it's black. I see white.
