  • If all you have is 1000 baht, well go have a meal out.

  • My math is rusty. Do I have this right. Should I invest ฿1000 I will get  ฿9 every 6 months in interest. Pass

  • And yet annualised inflation in April was 3.41% (if fell to 2.44% in May).  In other words, you're losing not only access to your money, but purchasing power if you invest in these bonds.

I have a better idea. The army professes to love the nation. And they are the largest landowner in the nation, at 12,000,000 rai. So, why not just sell off a half million rai, of land that is not needed, and show us you really care? Do something right for a change.

Oh I forgot for a moment. You do not care.

And why not sell it off to foreigners who will perhaps pay a higher price than locals?

(However, is it true that the Army is the largest landowner in the nation? I'd assumed that was a very special someone else.)

Out of curiosity I searched.  According to "the newspaper that dare not speak its name", the largest landowner in Thailand is Charoen Sirivadhanabhakdi and clan, followed by the Chearavanonts, then United Palm Oil Industry Plc.  The Crown Property Bureau trails at number 4.
