The first case of a Beta (South African) variant COVID-19 infection and four more COVID-19 clusters, with over 500 infections, have been found in Bangkok, according to the government.

Five people have been confirmed with Covid -19 over the past weekend in Pattaya after a raid on two restaurants allegedly violating Covid -19 rules. Dozens of police and support team members involved in the raid are currently being quarantined.

BANGKOK (Reuters) - Thailand's government has prepared about 7.5 billion baht ($235 million) to help ease the impact of restrictions imposed to curb a recent spike in infections, its prime minister said on Monday.

Asymptomatic COVID-19 cases in and around Bangkok to enter ‘Home Isolation’

Asymptomatic COVID-19 cases in Bangkok, Nakhon Pathom, Pathum Thani, Nonthaburi, Samut Prakan and Samut Sakhon will enter a “Home Isolation” program, under remote supervision by medical personnel, according to Thailand’s Public Health Ministry (Monday), as a direct result of the hospital bed shortage in and around the capital.

฿7.5bn allotted to help Thai workers and businesses hit by partial lockdown

Thailand’s Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) has set aside 7.5 billion baht, from the Social Security Fund and government borrowing, to compensate individuals and businesses affected by the month-long partial lockdown in Bangkok, Samut Prakan, Nakhon Pathom, Samut Sakhon, Nonthaburi and Pathum Thani provinces.

Delta variant to become dominant strain in the capital “within two to three months”

The number of people infected with the Delta and Beta variants of Covid-19, which was first identified in India and South Africa, have increased with the latter exceeding 120 cases, the Department of Medical Science (DMSC) said on Monday.

Unidentified foreigner arrested for allegedly stealing two bottles of liquor in Pattaya and attempting to flee across nearby rooftops, claims he is homesick and wants to be sent back to his country

Pattaya, Thailand-An unidentified foreign man was arrested yesterday, June 28th, 2021, in Pattaya after allegedly stealing two bottles of liquor from a local store and fleeing which led to a pursuit between the shop clerk, local villagers, and the foreigner and ultimately led to the arrest of the foreign national.

1,500 employees at Nonthaburi factory call for its closure after 60 workers infected with Covid

Daily News reported that a weaving factory in Pak Kret, Nonthaburi, remained open yesterday despite 1,500 employees protesting that it should be shut fearing the spread of Covid-19 and a new big cluster.

Vaccination of elderly, those with underlying diseases brought one month forward

Phuket marks 14 COVID infections in past week, vaccinations hit 80%

Government urged to try harder to procure sufficient vaccine for the Thai people
