"LA County health officials recommend wearing masks indoors amid spread of Delta variant"

Indoors is not at home. Did you read his article?

"Public Health strongly recommends people wear masks indoors in settings such as grocery or retail stores; theaters and family entertainment centers, and workplaces when you don't know everyone's vaccination status," L.A. County Department of Public Health said in a statement.

On the surface it sounds completely stupid but if you consider how many clusters there have been around factories and construction sites where hundreds of workers live in cramped dormitories, it becomes a lot less stupid and potentially a good idea. Enforcement however is another story.

This statement makes me angry.  Why?  Because he knows better.  The common masks we wear reduce viral loads in an outside environment, but are useless in an indoors family environment where the new variants spread quickly.

So as the other forum members stated this is simply saving face.  Blame the families for COVID spread.  Or the people in Bangkok not following the unclear, ever changing rules.

Or perhaps take a hard look in the mirror and realize we are way behind the curve.  Get vaccine now.  Stop the interprovincal travel.  Be smart about hospital capacity vs. Illness.  Hey, maybe it is time to do your job!

And now we have an exodus of building site workers from Bangkok to contend with due to the short sightedness and ineptitude of this Government.

Not to worry , they set up check  points which worked really well spreading virus all over the country and numbers going over 6000.

Plan working very well

It just once again shows complete and utter ignorance on the subject in addition to simply not knowing what to do to stop the spread .

will say it again, close down the <deleted> markets , it is the source of spread . People rubbing shoulders , breathing into each other’s faces, hardly any tracking or records.

and stop all interprovincial travel.

how hard is it to understand

Completely unrelated. The focus was of refusing or putting to end of queue non Thai for vaccination.

Don't drift.

But most Thai's don't have the vaccine either.  Are you aware what is going on here?  We are no worse off then the general Thai population.

If the government had done their job correctly and ordered a reputable class of vaccinations earlier there would not be any need of this stupidity !!!!

Have you forget that AMERICA is the FIRST and EU too? This are the countries who took almost all vaccims  and just little bit send to other countries.

All other countries can order how much they wan,t but they get only what will be sent to they.

I had a Myanmar girlfriend for a time and was very surprised at discrimination levels against her from the Thais.

Perhaps because as migrant workers they are classed as the lowest levels of society only allowed to do menial  work that Thai's don't want to do. On a par with slaves

That will only slow the spread a bit, it will not Stop the spread.  In the end the same number of people will contract the virus.  Those that are weak, old, overweight, have some other symptoms or traits may suffer, just as in any severe flu season.  It is time to get over this and just open things up.  Either mandate vaccines just as things like Polio, Small pox, measles, eTuberculosis, etc. or get on with things.  You will kill or harm more people with continued shutdowns than the virus will by itself.  People are not getting medical care, people are not paying for health insurance since they are out of work (very common in the USA at the moment), mental stress, family break ups, etc.

If people are forced to quarantine within their own homes, having contracted covid, then it is a logical for the infected person to wear a mask....perhaps this is what they meant?

People are being forced to "quarantine" without contracting anything or even being "tested"

It just shows the incompetent, stupidity, you have to wear masks in home, but a friend of my wife, has a colleague at work who has covid. He wants to protect his wife and family, goes to the hospital for a test, hospital say no we not test, if you have covid then we will have to look after you!  These people must be criminally insane. even his company wants him to get tested, but he can't.

I wonder who is the most stupid.
England which has 82% vaccinated with Astra-zeneca and Pfizer shows nearly 50 % of vaccinated people infected and shows the same proportion of death between vaccinated and non vaccinated in their current wave.  Same for Israel.
