Daily News reported on the ongoing case of a gang of twenty people ripping off the public for non-existent Sinopharm jabs.

Earlier the RTP spokesman Pol Col Krissana Pattanacharoen had said that the gang had posed as a well known doctor saying they could secure jabs of Sinopharm vaccine.

They would cost 1,800 baht each. It was claimed that the vaccine was left over from a lot issued to the Federation of Thai Industries.

A Line group was set up to complete the facade with regular updates to hoodwink the unwary.

But after 200 people had paid 360,000 baht, when they turned up to get their inoculations the hospital said they had never received their registrations.

Region 4 police commander Pol Lt-Gen Yanyong Wechosop appeared with other top brass and the director of Ban Phue Hospital at a press conference.

They announced the arrest of a Saraburi man called Ronnakorn, 31, on a warrant issued Friday for fraud under false pretences.

The media further reported that Ronnakorn had been operating on the fraud since June 28th in many areas and victims had started coming forward since the end of last month.

Others involved in the fraud including bank account holders are being sought as moves to prevent a repetition of the fraud are being made.

Add computer fraud to the charges

but first give them a dose of their own medicine and see how long the last in jail.

Unbelievable....not so much the fraud itself, but the fact people could die thinking they had immunity.......staggering.

I've read where SinoVac is only about 65% effective. So, didn't this guy commit only about 2/3 rds of a crime?
