covid-19 visa extension

Featured Replies

Hi

I entered Thailand june 30 on visa exempt from usa . finished my quarantine and went to chonburi immigration  to inquire about changing to non -immigrant O visa then apply for extension based on retirement .

i just transferred 800 K baht on  july13   to  my  Thai bank account .

the Immigration office said that i need to apply for a 30 days visa extension first to give the 800 K baht 2 month to season july13-sept 13.

then if i need to i can apply for a covid -19 extension ( twice -30 days each for a total of 60 days )

then i can apply for transition to Non - immigrant O  visa, then apply for the extension based on retirement .

she said i cannot apply for the covid extension first , i have to go through the regular 30 days extension .

is the covid-19 visa extension a 2 step process of 30 days each , where i have to pay 1900 baht each time ?

my visa exempt ends aug 13. when should i apply for the first extension ?

Thanks

The 800k baht only has to be in the on the day you apply for the non-o visa at immigration. You also need to proof the 800k baht was transferred from abroad. That is in the written requirements for the non-o visa but Jomtien seems to have created their own rules. The written requirements are here.  1151529811_ChangeVisaInstructions.pdf

You can apply for the 30 day extension about 12 weeks early.

The covid 19 extension will be for 60 days not 30 days.

I don't have 800K anymore since I have been spending from that money during this and the last year.

My 1 year retirement visa expires 11. Aug. 2021

I don't have any income and are not allowed to travel back home to Europe.

The immigration officer suggested me to put 15K in a brown envelope and they would give me another 1 year visa witch I refused.

What are my options?

Ubonjoe . Thank you . So it seems like you said Jomtien immigration created their own rules .!!

so they want me to wait 60 days for from date of transfer of 800K to bank .

I was offered the "VIP" visa  option for 25000 baht  to bypass all the steps like Mr Bander in post above  but i am not going to do  it since i cannot afford it  !!!

do i have any other options but to go along with their special rules , since i am going to be living in chonburi ?

By the way the instructions paper for the exempt to non immigrant O visa , does not say anything about a 2 months seasoning of the deposited amount  !!!!!!!!!!

can i apply for the covid 19 visa o extend 60  days from the start ?how much would it cost me ?

Thanks again

I have have heard of that being done. I think that is why they created their own rule.

I you will be living in Chonburi there no other option. If you applied for the non-o visa at another office that is where you would have to apply for the extension.

There is no amount of time mentioned it has to be in the bank. That is why they want proof it came from abroad.

You will have to do the 30 day extension before applying for the 60 day covid 19 extension. It is the same at every office.

Every extension of stay application has the standard fee of 1900 baht.

I  used Cambodia Inter Tour & Travel to get the retirement visa 2 years ago, they charged 12K for this service, including deposit 800K to my bank AC.

They are located in 27/36 Soi Buakhao
