Study English In Bkk

Featured Replies

Hi,

My friend thai would like study english in bangkok for 1-3 months with not so much student in the same classes and not so expensive. he is available everyday to study.

Someone know a good adress for it?

Thx

Try AUA language school at Rajdamri. If you choose classes after 9 and before 2 you tend to get classes with 8 to 12 students and it's pretty cheap. Earlier you have the office workers before going to work and after you have the students from the high schools. Cost is cheap. Other schools are relatively expensive at about 10,000 per class for 40 hours.

It may not be appropriate for your needs, but if you go to a school like ECC and participate in classes used to train the CELTA students (i.e. those wanting to get a certificate for teaching English), I think you just have to pay a small amount.

At the beginning, there may be many students but by the end of the month, fewer and fewer. Usually university students, sometimes refugees! V. interesting mix.

Of course the drawback is that the teachers are in training. They have to practise different styles of teaching and usually don't have much experience.

Hi,

On this same topic, I have a Thai friend who lives near Chidlom BTS. Her English is currently OK, but she'd like to improve on it, in a formal environment. I'm helping her find a school, and one of her criteria is location, so I've dug up info on ECC Thailand on Chulalongkorn Soi 64, Inlingua in Chidlom Tower, and AUA on Ratchadamri.

Can anybody here comment on the quality of teaching and curriculum at any of these 3 schools?

Links to the schools, in case anybody else is interested:

Also, all of them (as well as many more) are listed in the BKK pages, where you can get a visual on their locations:

Hi,

I am a CELTA Cambridge University and International House TESOL qualified teacher (I also have a finance degree). Why don't you give me a call and maybee we can do some private lessons. Max class size; private 4 and, max size; semi private 8 classes are very resonable and I discount every 15 hours you get a free hour. Placement test is also free. 0879361642 give me a call anytime. Hope I can help...
