Jonathan Fairfield
BANGKOK (NNT) - The Ministry of a Digital Economy and Society (DES) has noted an uptick in fake or distorted news that threatens social harmony, reporting 17 such instances in need of investigation on July 15. Through its Anti-Fake News Center, the DES continually monitors distorted facts. The center has received 1,650,581 complaints of untrue information being circulated in Thai society, and filtered the reports down to 30 in need of further action and 17 in need of investigation. Of the 17, 10 topics were to do with health, six were to do with government policies and one was to with natural disasters. The center pointed out that fake news to do with COVID-19 still make up a significant proportion of all complaints, citing examples such as claims that herbs effectively treat the virus where no scientific backing is shown. Royal Thai Police Spokesperson Lt Gen Yingyos Thepchamnong, has updated Thai citizens that police and the DES are collecting evidence to take legal action in these cases, noting that the sharing or forwarding of fake news is also illegal. Citizens are urged to vet any news before sharing or believing in any claims. For updates or to report a complaint, members of the public can add @antifakenewscenter on LINE, visit https://www.antifakenewscenter.com, follow twitter.com/AFNCThailand, find ANTI-FAKE NEWS CENTER I on Facebook or call the GCC on 1111 ext. 87. -- © Copyright NNT 2021-07-18 - Whatever you're going through, the Samaritans are here for you - Follow ASEAN NOW on LINE for breaking COVID-19 updates
Popular Post ThailandRyan
The majority coming from the Government apparently, while the confidential papers being spread which have come from deep inside are dispersed to show how much they have lied to the public. Those folks that were brave enough to show the issues I fear will be prosecuted for spreading disinformation, but then that is my opinion. 5 2

No one else can even approach (or uptick) the massive torrent of fake/distorted news they’re churning out on a daily basis. They make an exceptional 'hub' of lies, hypocrisy, treachery.and deceit. Andycoops
Investigate the government, they are all fakes, one is not even an MP and is currently cowering in his bunker, 250 are unelected. If that's not fake, I don't what is. They are more fake than the Rolex watch sellers in Pattaya's beer bars. (When open)
