roughly flights 1k$ ASQ 1k$, rent+living 1,5k$/mo, insurance + random things 500$/month. that would be minimum. Aside from that, I think we should have some savings in case of something completely unexpected

Let's take 10 months as an example.

You're willing to spend $22K to come and sit in a room and basically do nothing with risk of exposure to Covid?

Makes no sense IMO but up to you.....

I have lots to do. Economically it is a very viable option, but I am worried about visas and stuff

You can get an extension until 30 September but I believe some embassies stopped issuing them/are about to stop issuing them. Even if you got one today, it would only be valid for 3 months with no ability to change it in-country so it's a worse choice than it was previously.

that's a real issue. It's possible i missinterpreted what I've read about it. I need to read about current visa options except the phuket scheme

Easiest (least paperwork):

  • Arrive visa exempt (gives you 45 days)
  • ASQ - no need to be vaccinated (but seriously, reconsider)
  • then 30 day extension at the end of the 45 days (1900 Bht)
  • then ongoing 60 days covid extension - for as long as they last (1900 Bht each time)
  • if/when they stop the covid extensions, speak to an agent re "volunteer visa" (seems to be the current favourite, 25-45K Bht, valid for 12-15 months)

has it been cancelled? If I remember correctly, you can arrive on that visa till 30th September

If you end up coming to Thailand I would skip the STV (even if available).

Personally I would enter visa exempt.

That currently gives 45 days.

After that you would need obtain a 30day extension 1900baht.

After that you could obtain 60 day covid extensions. Again 1900baht each extension.

They will continue to be issued given current situation in Thailand and worldwide.

Regarding the reason as to why I don't want to be vaccinated as a guy in his 30's who had recovered from covid : vaccines carry some risk as they are experimental and there is a lot of censorship going on regarding the people experiencing adverse effects from them. According to articles I've read, the natural immunity should suffice. The risk of me suffering from covid again or spreading it in the near future is extremely low. So for now I decided to wait and monitor the situation.

Take a look at the chart below item #2  The reason it says that is because it has been determined that natural immunity fades within 3 months and you can catch Covid againespecially the Delta variant which is rampant over here. Except for Phuket and a few other islands (that you have to be double vaxed to go to) Thaiand's tourist areas  and big cities Bangkok, Pattaya ect are in lockdown. No bars or entertaiment venues open, retaurants closed or only take out, malls closed, pools at hotels closed, some beaches closed.  Under this partial lockdown everything that is open in bangkok is closed by 8 PM and you must be off the streets by 9 PM

That notice about the vaccination and a test is out of date. The vaccination part has been removed and the covid 19 test changed to 72 hours before entering. Also they are now planning a new no arrival from other provinces policy.

You don't have immunity and can spread it.

To be more accurate, he has a degree of immunity, but it is not sufficient to prevent the possibility of infection and (especially with the Delta variant) infecting others.

I only mentioned to check the chart for item #2   which mention if recovered from virus less than 90  days as it has been deterind and is in the video I posted that natural imunity fades with in 90 days. None of the info in the chart matters as  he is not and doesn't want to get vacccinated.

What are your interests.

Go out have some fun.

Go to bar for a relax.

Go out catch some good blues music.

You sound young so what about nightclub.

Enjoy a beach.

Go to nice cheap eatery for meal etc.

Travel throughout Thailand.

Fly from city to city in Thailand.

Gym for workout.

Or run in a nice park......etc etc

The above list along about anything else you can think of is a NO GO.

What are you thinking man

I am talking with my friends in Thailand almost every day and everybody is extremely bored and scared.

They hardly leave their houses because of the delta strain now starting to show it's real face in Thailand.

Every day it's getting worse and it will continue to do so until people get vaccinated.

Sadly enough it will not happen in the near future.

No, I am far from young and I've been, and am, living in a border city to Cambodia for a long time.

I am also in a relationship, so many things on your list don't apply to me, but I think now

it's the worst time to go to Thailand.

And still after knowing all this you're thinking about going without getting vaccinated ?

Wow, that's what I call a death wish, man...

Your confused. My post was to the OP not you.

Also your last sentence makes no sense.

I'm already in Thailand. I live here.

Think that advice was directed to the OP.

Your confused

Thank you for the advice guys. Please bear in mind that setting up a trip in current day and age takes time and preparation. So I am not planning to travel literally now, but in a 1-3 months span where things hopefully improve at least to some extent. If not, I am going to wait longer as the situation is worse than I thought

Good plan. Thailand ain't moving anywhere so putting it off for few months great idea.

Especially wait till domestic flights are back up and zero internal travel restrictions.
