Thailand reports record high new COVID-19 cases and deaths - but even more recoveries

Even with this new policy of distorting the facts by hiding numbers of infected, the numbers still rise.  By doing what they are doing, however, opens them up to accusations of a cover up through manipulation of who is counted as positive.  Hopefully this will blow up in their faces. A total farce from a total farce of a 'govt'. It is also an admission to numbers being far, far higher than they are telling us. I see occasionally on here people saying that we should have faith in the numbers. Well clearly this is not the case.

Indeed. Thailand may well end up becoming the only country in the world where the number of people who recovered from the virus exceeds the number who tested positive.????

And as usual they'll think they're fooling everyone.

The latest statistics show that 95.71% of people registered to live in Bangkok have been vaccinated at least once and 20.84% have been fully vaccinated. If this is true, then we could see a drop in the number of deaths & serious cases by November. Source: https://dashboard-vaccine.moph.go.th/dashboard.html

As Thailand’s COVID cases soar government takes critics to court

Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha is accused of overreach as public disaffection grows over his handling of the pandemic.

Bangkok, Thailand – Authorities in Thailand are facing allegations of using lawsuits and new emergency decrees to fend off a rising tide of public anger about their handling of the COVID-19 pandemic as the country’s infection rate and death toll continue to hit record highs.

No suprise with this lot is it. Let's not lose sight of who they actually are, how they came into power and why they are stll there. Calling Thailand a democracy is a misnomer and it's on show now for all to see.

The national rates for the country remain only about 20% have received a first shot, and only 6% fully vaccinated with a second shot... A long way to go before the end of the year deadline.

Why cant they just tell the truth? When Covid just started  here if you tested Covid positive you were forced to be admitted to hospital whether you had symptoms or not. This is the reason Hospitals here filled up so fast. In the USA , if you tested positive but showed no symptoms or mild symptoms you were told to go home and self quarantine for 14 days. The Hospital would tell you if your symptoms became worse like trouble breathing, High fever for many days to call the hospital before you go there and they would meet you in full protective gear. Millions of Covid positive got better staying at home instead of staying in the hospital. I am surprised it took the Thai government this long to figure this out. When they say released because they recovered it doesn't mean they are testing negative and it doesn't mean they have recovered .  It just means they can recover at home but still have to quarantine if still Covid positive .

But in the US they counted them as a case for statistical purposes. Here they dont, ergo the low case numbers daily.

I think those numbers may not be all that they seem to be... Because, MoPH's official figure for Bangkok's population is 7.7 million, which is what they've been using all along for their vaccination reports...

And as of a week ago, Bangkok had only given  5.9 million doses in total, including 4.88 million first doses. So yes, they would have had added doses in the ensuing week, but not that many....

This is Bangkok province's latest vaccinations report, which shows 4.1 million first doses have been given, and 1.15 million second doses.... out of a total population of 7.7 million.

Are you familiar with the typical floor plan of a home in the US compared to family living arrangements in Thailand?

Nup

Last year same time of year I was in Europe worrying about if and when I would ever be allowed back into Thailand. Now I am in Europe worrying whether there will be any Thailand left to fly back to. The gloom and doom seem to have been going on for so long already.

These Chonburi numbers are total BS…they do not reflect reality. The numbers do not just level out as was proven to be correct when looking at Bangkok cases a few weeks back.

Wise to take any numbers with a pinch of salt.

Discharged from hospital and quarantine having made a full recovery!

Many in hospital shouldn’t have been there in the first place. Record releases is a product of a ridiculous policy to hospitalise all.

If that's true , The case number could really be close to 30k a day

Gotta wonder about that.

I think you just hit the nail on the head......It is unfortunately what it is with this Governments figures, and then I wonder if TAT is not a subgroup of the MOPH.  Low numbers on one end and astronomical numbers on the other end. No middle road.

we all knew this already and like I said yesterday - this makes a total farce out of these daily figures - they are meaningless

Couldn’t agree more.

Only in this thread.

There’s plenty of things to look forward to once it’s all under control.

Wow....

Chonburi Hospital tells patients to avoid visits after 74 staff infected

Chonburi Hospital on Thursday announced that a total of 74 personnel had been infected with Covid-19 in the past five days.

The hospital urged people to avoid visits, unless there was an emergency, in order to prevent them from the risk of infection.

It added that patients can receive their medicines via post, and are allowed to reschedule meetings with their doctors.

Tragic, from the link above

It's called  lag effect.... similar to your thinking processes.

Why aren't you allowed back in.?

Opinion: As numbers rise, the time is now for more personal responsibility

Thailand saw record highs in both infections and deaths on Friday as the third wave of the pandemic show no sign of slowing down.

Much has been written of the government’s failed response to the Covid-19 pandemic and failure to procure vaccines.

But as the death toll mounts and government officials scratch their heads about the next step for the country, we must also start to take personal responsibility for our actions.

https://www.thaienquirer.com/30937/opinion-as-numbers-rise-the-time-is-now-for-more-personal-responsibility/

From the total number of confirmed cases that were found in the past 24 hours:

- 16,812 were found via walk-in tests at medical facilities

- 4,557 via proactive tests at known clusters

- 10 imported cases

I would suggest that figure is a total nonsense.
