Thai PM advised to stop the export of AstraZeneca vaccine for use domestically

Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha should exercise his powers under the National Security Act to force Siam BioScience, the local producer of the AstraZeneca vaccine, to suspend the export of the vaccine for three months and use those doses domestically instead, to contain the accelerating spread of COVID-19 infections in the country, said Dr. Manoon Leeechawengwong, a specialist in respiratory diseases at Vichaiyut Hospital, in his Facebook post today.

2,000 pharmacies in Bangkok sign up to help those in home isolation scheme

About 2,000 pharmacies have joined Bangkok’s home isolation program, under which they will provide antigen test kits (ATKs), medication and counselling to asymptomatic, mildly symptomatic COVID-19 patients and those in high-risk groups.

Thai PM asked to stop ATK procurement from China’s Lepu Medical Technology

Thailand’s Rural Doctor Society (RDS) is urging Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha to stop the Government Pharmaceutical Organization (GPO) signing a contract with China’s Lepu Medical Technology, for the supply of 8.5 million antigen test kits (ATKs), which the government plans to distribute free to the public via hospitals.
