This has been a on going concern in Thailand for many years, now swept under the rugs with this pandemic thingy.

This is rather interesting. A Thai monastery that can ordain female monks.

When Ajahn Brahm of western Australia did that (who had ordained under Ajahn Chah in Thailand) the King of Thailand excommunicated him ... no too long a go, and soon after donating a Buddha image to Brahm's monastery near Perth.

(Ajahn Brahm brushed that off and still encourages female ordination ...)

I believe there's only the one Thai monastery that does this, there may be another, but the Thai Buddhist hierarchy in Bangkok still does not recognized them.  A couple of years ago, before this pandemic thingy, they were catching a lot of heat for for not allowing women to become monks.  Now it's been swept under the door mats.

They are not recognized by most of the Thai Buddhist community including the big Buddhist honcho's in Bangkok.
