ANGRY GAMBLER FROM BANGKOK SHOOTS AND KILLS A PATTAYA MAN IN FRONT OF PUB

A Bangkok man, who was gambling in a pub on Pattaya 3rd Road, lost almost 100,000 Baht to a Pattaya man. He asked for a return match, but got into a brawl with a Pattaya gang, instead. In a fit of rage, the Bangkokian produced a gun, shooting the Pattayan before fleeing to Bangkok.

On the 29th May 2007, at 4:30 AM, Pol.Lt.Col. Suchart Sukthaworn, Pattaya Investigator, was notified that there was a fatal shooting at the "93 Miles Pub" located at 103-104 Pattaya 3 rd Road, near the South Pattaya traffic light, Moo 10, Nongprue, Banglamung, Chonburi.

The criminal drove away in a black Honda Civic (no license number noted) back to Bangkok. Police in the area coordinated efforts to apprehend the criminal, and rushed to the incident with Pol. Col, Suthin Sabphueng, Superintendent, Pol.Lt.Col.Chonaphat Nawalak, Deputy Investigation Superintendent, Pol.Lt.Col. Sirichai Kruprasertwatana, Deputy Crime Supression Superintendent, Pol.Lt.Col.Santi Chainiramai, Inspector and Pol.Maj. Chaigrit Thong-In, Investigator.

Arriving at the pub, which was still open, many customers were running, chaotically, because two rival gangs had been brawling inside the pub. Whiskey bottles, glasses and mirrors were broken and debris was scattered around. There were drops of blood everywhere. By this time, members of both gangs had already run away. A shooting victim had already been transferred to Pattaya Memorial Hospital.

His name was Mr. Mark Suwansenee (28), living at 135/43 Moo 10, Nongprue, Banglamung, Chonburi. He was shot more than ten times, with wounds to his chest, torso, arms and legs. The injuries proved to be fatal. The guy, who shot the victim, Mr.Mark, drove away in a black Honda Civic, (no license number noted) with his gang, heading to Bangkok. Police tried, unsuccessfully, to contact the highway police to intercept the shooter but it was too late..

Investigators at the scene found fourteen, nine mm. shell casings and blood stains in front of the pub. Also found, were some bullets at nearby residences. Police have kept the shells as evidence. Pol.Col. Suthin Sabphueng, Superintendent, declared that questioning of Mr.Mark's friends revealed that there was a gang of about ten men and women from Bangkok , who came to "93 Miles Pub".

The shooter was a Thai man around 25-30 years old (name unknown) who invited Mr. Mark to join him for drinks and to wager on a game of Pool. They bet 20,000 baht per game. After playing many games, the shooter lost a large sum of money. Mr. Mark suggested that they stop playing as he did not want the shooter to lose more money. But the shooter did not agree and asked for a return match, increasing the wager to 30,000 baht per game in an attempt to win back his money.

However, the shooter could not beat Mr. Mark and ended up losing almost 100,000 baht. He still wanted to continue playing and that led to big altercation between the two men. The two gangs ended up brawling in the pub, causing many of the guests to get hurt. The Bangkok gang got the worst of it and ran out of the shop. However, the man who lost the large sum of money gambling on the pool game, suddenly pulled out a gun and shot Mr. Mark in front of the pub

Many of guests were running for their lives. Mr. Mark tried to run away, but the shooter emptied his gun into him. Mr.Mark was lying in the street, covered with blood, as the shooter got into his car and drove away with his gang. A car, belonging to one of the gang members, was left in the car park. Police will attempt to catch the shooter and the gang as soon as possible.

Pol.Col.Suthin also said that the pub was obviously open past the legal closing time. The manager must be prosecuted in order to prevent such a crime from happening again. The pub has been closed down before for violating closing time regulations. (Police are questioning witnesses and intensely investigating the case, but have not yet tracked down the perpetrators.)

So are they going to reopen the bar with a new name like:

The "10 (or 12) Shot Pub" ?

(Shoot the) "Pool Player Bar" ?

The "Win Big, Die Hard Bar" ?

The "8 Ball in the Pocket, 9mm in the Chest Bar" ?
