The honorary chairperson of Prachuap Khiri Khan Chamber of Commerce has called for the Oct 1 reopening of Hua Hin to be delayed.

Mr Nipon Suwannawa told Thai media on Tuesday that Prachuap Khiri Khan, including Hua Hin, is not yet ready to reopen to foreign tourists.

Mr Nipon said “Hua Hin is still not 100% ready.”

Some sense at last, Phuket boasted at being ready, we can all see that was far from the truth.

Hua Hin does not want to do the same.

High profile figures are sending a message to Phipat to back-off with his grand ideas.

FINALLY, a smart man in Hua Hin, Bravo!

Scam-box in Phuket was/ is a disaster.

All of the private and government hospitals including the field hospitals at capacity, more than 250 new cases a day and growing! In Phuket, GREEDY Muppets are in charge!

Maybe too early for foreign tourists, but at least let those of us from Bangkok and other provinces enjoy alcoholic drinks during our stay!

Nothing stopping you from drinking at home. I do every Friday, beer, music and crisps.

"The honorary chairperson of Prachuap Khiri Khan Chamber of Commerce ..."

What does the actual chairperson say?

On a tangent, I checked with the Bangkok Airways office in Chiang Mai yesterday and they said that Samui has the 14-day island quarantine in effect but if you want to go over to Koh Phangan or Koh Tao, you MUST have been vaccinated -- either two doses of the Chinese medicine or one of any other.

So I guess the "passport" theory has become reality here.

My opinion is this mindset will keep Thailand broken for a very long time; maybe this is the new normal, ie, forget about tourism ever again.

The sandbox is not a disaster, the infections are coming from local people
