144 teams of medics sent to help flood victims in 17 flooded provinces

Thailand’s Ministry of Public Health has sent 144 teams of medics to help flood victims in 17 provinces and they have already treated more than 8,000 people, mostly suffering from foot diseases, according to the ministry’s permanent secretary Dr. Kiattibhoom Vongrachit.

Body of missing boat skipper found 70km from his capsized tug in Ayutthaya

The decomposing body of a man, believed by the driver of the tug boat which capsized in front of Wat Panang Choeng in Ayutthaya province on September 29th, was found this morning (Saturday) by another boatman at the base of a pillar of the Rama 8 Bridge in Bangkok, about 70 kilometres from the scene of the accident.

People living adjacent to Chao Phraya River in Chainat province warned of possible flooding

Thailand’s Royal Irrigation Department (RID) sent an urgent letter to Chainat’s provincial governor today (Saturday), asking him to warn people living on both banks of the Chao Phraya River to brace for a 20cm rise in water levels, due to the diversion of runoffs into the irrigation canal system instead of allowing the water to flow into the river.

LONDON, Oct 2 (Reuters) - British Prime Minister Boris Johnson will open up more countries for hotel quarantine-free travel later this week, The Sunday Telegraph reported, saying that the UK's "red list" of destinations would be slashed to nine from 54.

Nonthaburi Province braces for flood

UTCC expects subdued vegetarian festival this year

Irish ex-pat and his wife arrested in Sattahip for alleged online scams to the tune of 500,000 baht

An Irish ex-pat and his wife have been arrested in Sattahip after allegedly offering to sell cheap iPhones and iPads online and not sending the products after payments were made. The damage is currently estimated at 500,000 baht, according to Consumer Protection Police familiar with the case.

Elderly Chonburi man reportedly wins first prize in Thai lottery, 30 million baht

An elderly man, who so far has requested for his name to be withheld by local authorities, reportedly has won the first prize in the Thai national lottery yesterday (October 1st), receiving a prize of 30 million baht in Bo Thong, a Chonburi district located in the Northeast.

Thailand reports fewest COVID-19 deaths since July

The number of daily COVID-19 deaths in Thailand fell below 100 for the second successive day and with the country reporting fewest deaths since July 26, the Ministry of Public Health reported on Sunday (Oct 3).
