BANGKOK (Reuters) -Thailand's government is in talks with U.S. drugmaker Merck & Co to purchase 200,000 courses of the company's experimental antiviral pill for COVID-19 treatment, a Thai official said on Monday.

American suspect who allegedly raped masseuse in Khon Kaen has extended detention sought, investigators oppose bail at this time

Khon Kaen – An American suspect originally from Colorado who was under Thai police custody for allegedly raping and assaulting a masseuse in late September has reportedly confessed to all allegations to Khon Kaen police today, October 4th, and investigators are opposed to any bail at this point of the investigation, believing the suspect would be a flight risk.

Phuket marks 177 new COVID cases, three more deaths

Water runoff and landslide warning issued for Phetchaburi, Prachuap, Chumphon and Ranong

PM: No cabinet reshuffle underway

BANGKOK (NNT) - Prime Minister Gen. Prayut Chan-o-cha has addressed rumors of an imminent Cabinet reshuffle, asserting that no reshuffles are planned at the moment. Similarly, Deputy Prime Minister Gen. Prawit Wongsuwan has indicated there are no impending Cabinet reshuffles or adjustments within the ranks of the ruling Palang Pracharath Party.

BANGKOK (Reuters) - Thailand's headline consumer price index (CPI) rose more than expected in September as government utility subsidies ended and energy prices increased, the commerce ministry said on Tuesday.
