Hua Hin Airport

By  Hua Hin Today

There have been several talks over the past few months about future developments for the airport of Hua Hin. The main topic is to position Hua Hin airport as an international airport, an initiative proposed by Hua Hin Airport and Phoenix Group, led by John Laroche and supported by the local authorities, the airport management,

Tourism Authority of Thailand and the private sector. The other topic is the possible development of the airport as a lifestyle destination hub for the entire region, hoping to attract both local visitors and in the future international travelers, think of it as a small-scale multi-purpose center or venue accessible to all and not just an airport.

The initiative led by B-Concept Media Entertainment Group, aims at providing fairs, events, outdoor music festivals, shows, exhibitions, product launches, upper-scale food and beverage plaza, weekend markets, meetings, conferences and more, an ideal venue using the entirety of the airport itself including the runway and its hangar. B-Concept Media Entertainment Group, is a Bangkok-based full-service agency, managing advertising, branding, digital marketing, entertainment, events, media and ticket sales.

........????

Utter and complete BS, conjured up by dreamers and skeamers. Hua Hin airport has been one of the most underutilized airports in the world since it opened. The runway has been expanded, much hype has been made about new flights and then, nothing happens.

Real men act. Children jabber on and on and on about plans and schemes, and then what?

All talk and no action makes Phiphat a very boring and ineffective way man.

These people are absolute dreamers..... actually, correction... they are absolutely con-artists.

The only interest they have in any project such as this, so obviously flawed, it nosing in at the trough of bribes and graft....

When Hua Hin is 2.5 hours drive from two major airports there no reason whatsoever to have an airport.

Hua Hin hasn’t seen this much exciting tourism news since the much hyped opening of Blueport resort mall. That fizzled out pretty quickly. So they plan to redevelop and utilize the airport as an event space? We have several desolate event spaces already , all we lack are events

Security of all airport spaces kind of makes this a non-starter... You can't have people wondering all over the airport and then have a secure area the next day or even later the same day... Doesn't work that way... These people are crazy...

Well I hope they have more discussion with the Airlines this time,as the last time they tried to invent Hua Hin as as International Airport they just went ahead and took it for granted that their idea was going to be a guaranteed success.

They upgraded the Control Tower, the interior new Shops etc, then the splendor Of lengthingning the Runway to accomdate the larger Aircraft that were going to arrive, but forgot to set up a Service Area for the Maintenance of all these larger Aircraft, besides not getting a guarantee that the International Airways would be interested in moving parts of their Fleets to Hua Hin.

After wasting all this money what did they get,I believe it was 2 Test Flights and nothing more only the Tunnel over the main Road that carries The lengthened Runway and somehow we lost our favorite evening Flight to Bangkok.

Most International airports around the world need to have at least two usable runways as a safety factor,

incase one of the runways becomes un usable.

Hua Hin only has one. It is a domestic airport, and if an international airline is using it, their aircraft

has to have enough fuel to get to Bangkok incase there is an accident that closes the runway.

Geezer
