It was taken 2 years ago on a sponsored walk with some BKK schoolkids & some of our dogs. I'm the one sitting at the front. I've lost about 5 kilos since then & my hair is back to normal (dark brown, not flame red), but otherwise - same, same.

I had quit my job and took the bike out for a ride - 63,000km and two years later I stopped and went back to work. I had two haircuts and shaved three times in that time.

That photo was taken after about three months on the road and I was going through a lot of problems.

A little earlier that day (twas the day we did the village thing) I managed to cause a little bit of a laugh by trying to limbo dance under the three gates, sis-in-law is the one telling me off, and the only one that didn't get it was the bemused looking farang in the background (poor lad, first time in Isaan and hadn't quite got the hang of sanook, actually he hasn't been back since)

I think mom was a Woodstock wannabe, but dad was one of those old-school bikers like you see in the Annette Funicello movies (Beach Blanket Bingo, ect). Saw pics of dad from the back in the day, leather pants, leather jacket, leather hat, riding the Harley. (Long before the Village People ever came along).

When I go back next month I'll root through my photo albums and see if I can find a pick from my younger years (scary thought).
