The news comes as Thailand will end coronavirus quarantine requirements for vaccinated visitors from 10 low-risk countries starting Nov. 1, Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha said on Monday, as the Southeast Asian nation tries to revive its pandemic-hit economy. Thailand last year suffered its deepest economic contraction in more than two decades, with the key tourism sector still struggling. Visitors from at least 10 countries including the United Kingdom, Singapore, Germany, China and the United States will be exempted from quarantine on arrival, Prayuth said in a televised speech. *Reuters contributed to this report Discover Cigna’s range of health insurance solutions created for expats and local nationals living in Thailand - click to view -- © Copyright ASEAN NOW 2021-10-12 - Whatever you're going through, the Samaritans are here for you - Follow ASEAN NOW on LINE for breaking COVID-19 updates 2

Popular Post ThailandRyan
Looks like prison cases have risen again, but at the end of the day have they even vaccinated them or just tried for heard immunity by exposing them all like they have by using the bubble and seal method on the factory workers and such. As of right now the Worldometers website has not been updated and still shows the numbers reported from yesterday, so as far as posting any of that info, that will need to wait, but I am sure someone will be along to post the info along with other information.

ikke1959
In my place there are 33 cases in BIg C, but Big C is still open and everything seems to be normal.Same for Kao Yoi where there would be a new cluster..If they don't care about the real numbers, how can the be serious telling that everything is under control?? THey can manipulate the numbers and than they are angry if there will be more cases because the people lower their guard or start coming together again... Yes if there are a few cases it doesn't seems so bad, so why follow the rules???

Popular Post Kadilo
As requested, updated numbers from worldometer including yesterdays figures: Thailand currently sitting at 65th in the worldometer ranking table over the past 7 days for the number of deaths reducing to 9 deaths/million of population, same position as yesterday. 4 places below the UK. Official number of deaths have fallen 14% and new cases 2% over the same period. 65 Thailand 73,557 75,436 -2% 1,050 640 742 -14% 9 70,023,568 Good to see a big fall in the number of official (and unofficial) new cases with the number of patients in a serious condition and on ventilators. Disappointing upturn in the daily number of deaths but still remained in double digits and an overall reduction to 9/million of population over the past week. Overall positive set of numbers overall on a day of positive news for many re the governments announcement to lift further restrictions to attract back tourism for the main Xmas/New Year period. Glimmer of hope for the many Thai people now desperately struggling to make ends meet having been severely impacted by the lack of tourism and lockdowns. Here’s hoping Thursdays confirmation will also include good news for all the children who have also been affected over this time, and they can soon return to school for some much needed education and social interaction. 2

Thailand's Nov 1st Reopening. Devil will be in Details COE? Insurance? SHA+? Prayut laid out a vision but bureaucrats may add conditions, how many will determine success. If the answer to those 3 queries is yes then not much will have changed from the from what people anticipated with the 5 sandbox's previously planned. Other than not being confined to Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Hua Hin or Pattaya if Thailand's reopening remains, book a flight, prepay an SHA+ hotel stay, prepay an in-country corona virus test, pay for a hefty insurance policyand send the entire stack of paperwork to a consulate and wait for a COE before boarding a plane, those new year holiday travellers will not be enticed and simply go elsewhere. https://bangkokherald.com/business/tourism/thailands-nov-1-reopening-devil-will-be-in-details/

Until it's in writing and published in the gazette then all bets are off as it's just wishful thinking and verbiage stated by a PM trying to save his skin. It is funny though that within 12 hours after the PM stated his wishes the THB gained back ground on all transfer and exchange rates. Even if ATK was employed, think of the queues and waiting time at the airport. It's a very difficult task to balance. Maybe COE will still be required, therefore controlling the number entering the country. I think TAT's predictions of tourist number would overwhelm any systems put in place. Even in the UK there was problems with the PCR testing system for travellers. Edited October 12, 2021 by Petey11
