Mobile Medical Units Set Up to Help Flood Victims

BANGKOK (NNT) - Thailand’s Public Health Ministry has dispatched officials to set up mobile medical units for flood victims in Chanthaburi, Trat and Prachin Buri provinces where hospitals were flooded as a result of typhoon Kompasu.

Thailand’s night-time curfew shortened as country’s COVID restrictions eased

Thailand’s Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) has announced an adjustment to the list of COVID-19 “dark red” provinces, a shortening of the night curfew to 11pm-3am, while convenience stores and shopping centres can open until 10pm, effective from October 16th.

PHUKET: Brown water has returned to Patong Beach and tar balls have been found washed up onto Mai Khao Beach, on Phuket’s northwestern coast, local residents have reported.

Thailand’s household economy has improved but will remain fragile for the rest of the year, due to a combination of flooding, rising energy prices and uncertainty over the COVID-19 pandemic, although Economic Condition Index (ECI) for September has improved from August, according to the Kasikorn Research Center’s ECI report.

Three foriegn drivers fall for Kalim corner in two weeks

PHUKET: Police in Patong have had water-filled barriers installed on a curve in Kalim in the hope of preventing more drivers from plunging over the road’s edge down to the beach below. Three foreign tourists have already fallen victim to the sharp curve this month, police said.

CCSA approves plan to buy 50,000 courses of anti-viral Molnupiravir drug

Thailand’s Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) today (Thursday) approved the Public Health Ministry’s proposal to procure 50,000 courses of the anti-viral Molnupiravir drug, made by US pharmaceutical company Merck.
