The translation and summary of the CCSA briefing Oct. 20 -- posted by Richard Barrow about 3 hours ago  -- says absolutely nothing new.

Then Barrow just posted a fresh Thai PBS story quoting some fancy division within Dept of Disease Control:

Earlier someone posted something he got from a phone call to the Thai Embassy in London that says to expect something next week. LOL.

And so much for the promise of a list of low-risk countries exempt from quarantine by Wednesday.

Just more puzzle pieces that don't fit any coherent plan. Surprise!

So, "no quarantine" now means about 2 days of quarantine if you have to get a test within 24 hours of arrival and wait for the results before traveling free outside of quarantine. They are still using the phrase "without being required to enter quarantine." This is confusing to me.

And based on the latest announcement

$50,000 coverage of health insurance.

" From November 1st, foreign tourists arriving in Thailand, without being required to enter quarantine, must meet seven conditions, ".

"

Foreign arrivals must:

  1. Come from countries specified by the Thai Public Health Ministry as being low risk and arrive by air.
  2. Have certificates to confirm that they have received two doses of a recognised COVID-19 vaccine.
  3. Have negative COVID-19 results from RT-PCR tests conducted within 72 hours prior to arrival in Thailand.
  4. Have a minimum of US$50,000 health insurance coverage.
  5. Have written/electronic confirmation of hotel bookings in Thailand.
  6. Download and install a specified app upon arrival at the airport and undergo RT-PCR tests within 24 hours of arrival.
  7. Have negative test results before travelling domestically without quarantine. "https://www.thaipbsworld.com/thailand-sets-out-seven-conditions-for-foreign-arrivals-without-quarantine/

It appears that many don't comprehend vague rhetoric terribly well.

1 or 2. It's a long time since I studied maths, but that would suggest an upper limit of 2 to me. What is vague about that?

Perhaps you don't think it's worth pointing out when a politician makes a promise that they don't deliver on?
