I'm saying people may be symptomatic albeit mildy and self administer an ATK test which may give a false negative or a positive. If it's a positive they may very well not go to hospital with mild symptoms and not report it. Not sure if I can make this any clearer. Of course there's also people who may be close contacts of a confirmed case who have no symptoms, so not sick, who need to go to hospital for a PCP test. Rayong 46.6% I don't normally speculate on numbers but the Rayong one caught my attention. So according to this list, Rayong is among the most vaxxed provinces with 46.6% but yet it got added back to the watch list provinces list because of surging cases. So either these numbers are false, incorrect, do not add up, etc, or as it has been said before; being vaxxed doesn't make you immune to the virus itself, it merely helps your immune system fight the disease. Then again what would be very interesting is to know is which vaccine brand those 46.6% vaccinated folks got? Let me guess... either the Chinese poop or the Russian one? One enquiring mind would like to know... Edited November 2, 2021 by NanaSomchai

I don't think it's too difficult to extrapolate out to guess what the numbers might actually be if similar level of testing was done in Thailand compared to other countries. Most disturbing to me though is the fact that Thailand is so high up on the Serious Critical Cases statistic.

You're quite right of course. Before ATK's came along it was possible to get a measure of the situation to some degree with the number of hospital walk in cases even though at the time that was still limited because of many hospitals limiting testing, however now with widespread ATK use the situation has changed and as WHO Thailand pointed out just a few days ago: There is also incomplete information about the number of people self-testing positive with the antigen test kits that are now widely available, making the situation more difficult to accurately assess.

Here's my attempt at this: Firstly no it does not include ATK tests, the positivity rate for those are occasionally given via the CCSA daily briefing slides. The brown box represents the overall positive results per PCR test. So is Thailand's official positivity rate. There are other metrics such as walk in positivity rates which are much higher, pro active testing positivity rates usually lower now that the worse is over, PUI positivity rates etc
