Thai Airways is also reported to be seeking a further ฿25 billion from several banks after it posted a profit of ฿11.1 billion for the first six months of the year following the flag carrier’s record-breaking loss for last year. It comes as the airline implements its court approved restructuring plan being managed and chaired by former President Mr Piyasvasti The government will be looking more to international sources of funding in 2022 although most public borrowing will still be raised domestically as the Finance Ministry has embarked on a sustained policy of fiscal support to drive the economic recovery and domestic spending at the same time as reopening the kingdom to foreign tourism.
