The chief of the Thai Muang police station in Phangnga in southern Thailand got a report of a mysterious package left outside, reported Daily News yesterday.

The EOD bomb disposal team were called amid fears that it might be a bomb.

But there were no explosives. The fertilizer sack did, however, contain a war weapon, long shotgun, Thai adapted gun and handgun as well as rounds of ammunition.

Pol Col Weerayuth Sitthirattanakul said that his men had been cracking down on weapons' ownership ahead of a local election.

The sack was probably left by someone who didn't want to be caught with the contents.
