Thailand Retirees from Hawai'i and Health Insurance Questions

Featured Replies

Aloha gang,

I'm trying to find current retirees in Thailand who previously lived in Hawai'i and might be using their Hawai'i based HMSA health insurance in Thailand now.

I’m with Kaiser in Hawaii. Even if you have HMSA you can’t use it out here. When I had a hernia operation I had to pay in full. Then when I went back to Hawaii I had to show the bill to Kaiser and they reimbursed me most of it. I have Pacific Cross in Thailand but if I have any type of medical procedure I have to pay in full then give it to Pacific Cross and they’ll reimburse on what they see fit.
