More COVID infections found in Bangkok after woman drops dead in alley

Health officials and a mobile COVID-19 testing unit were dispatched to Phahonyothin Soi 54/1, in Bangkok’s Sai Mai, district to test people in the community, after a 30-year-old woman collapsed and died in the middle of a lane on Tuesday. The woman tested positive for the virus at the post-mortem examination.

Civil society’s anti-discrimination draft bill submitted to Thai Parliament

A draft bill, aimed at protecting certain groups of people against discrimination and drafted by 10 people groups, which has been signed by 12,116 supporters, was submitted to Thailand’s House of Representatives today (Wednesday).

Region 2 police continue crackdown on illegal motorbike racing, over a thousand people arrested in Chonburi and other Eastern provinces

Roughly one thousand illegal motorbike racers were arrested and more than a thousand modified motorbikes were seized in a crackdown by the Region 2 Police this month. Chonburi had the most arrests and seizures of a total of eight different provinces.

Thailand to produce only B7 diesel fuel until next March to reduce diesel prices

Thailand’s Energy Policy and Planning office (EPPO) decided today (Wednesday) to instruct oil refineries to produce just one type of diesel fuel (B7), from December until next March, to lower the price to around 28 baht/litre, and oil traders to maintain the marketing fee at 1.40 baht/litre. The measures are to ease the impact on truck operators as oil prices rise globally.
