Hat Yai police in southern Thailand were called after reports that an agile thief was climbing down a block in Phitak Uthit 2 Road. 

 

The man - inevitably called Thai Spiderman by Daily News - was aged about 30 but managed to escape police capture after he climbed off the roof and back into the building.

 

The female owner of a machinery firm said that she was alone when the man appeared and asked if he could climb in and make good his escape.

 

Fearing for her safety she obliged. 

 

The police brought in a vehicle and basket to try and find the thief and checked 9 properties but he was well gone.
