So tracking and tracing thec255 is a bit problematic. We'll that is a disturbing issue.

They would have all been PCR tested already but I think they are worried because some PCR test kits are providing false negative results with the Omicron variant.

Scientists at Ramathibodi Hospital Centre say that the African scientist made the 115 Omicron variant samples available worldwide to let scientists from around the world to study the strain simultaneously. The genetic code was added to the GISAID Covid-19 database. The hospital utilised these 115 Omicron variant samples to run PCR tests that were approved by the WHO’s Nexclade programme.

The tests found that some PCR kits are inaccurately returning false-negative results or positive results so weak they may be misinterpreted. The hospital warned Covid-19 testing centres throughout Thailand to ensure they are using PCR tests that are capable of accurately identifying Omicron variant infections, though they did not name which tests in particular are most accurate.

Rapid tests positive cases, 1,651 bringing the total of PCR and ATK results to 6,537

That makes it a 99.3% survival rate .... as things stand

If you take one days figures and disregard why that is completely out of context.

However its amazing what vaccinations do in bringing down the CFR

You can't count survival rate! Nobody don't have any idea how many totaly has infected or die! Never should happen that lightning hit you! Almost impossible! And even specialist's dont know why some get only minor symptom's and some go to ICU or die! Only what is fact! Get vaccine and you have much better chance to haddle it if infected!

They are now looking for 307 tourist arrivals which is up from the original 255 that arrived from the 8 countries. Concerning in my view even though they cleared the PCR test on arrival.

Article in the BP which can not be linked.

New data just uploaded to ourworldindata are the sequencing statistics of some countries.

Officially out of every 100 cases of covid for a two week period before 1st Nov Thailand has sequenced 0.6%. We know from an earlier media report today that since the 1st Nov they have sequenced another 83 cases.

About time to ramp up if they want to identify new variants such as this latest threat Omicron.

As much as the numbers of COVID cases in Thailand sound bad, it is in much better shape

compared with the number of cases in the USA, India, South America, Russia, and China, and a few other countries.

China with its massive population, likely has way more cases than they will ever admit to.

The percentage of people in China being fully vaccinated is likely fairly low as well, I expect that only the rich and

important people have both of their shots.  Last time I heard, Russia still has lots of people sick and or dying from

COVID as well.  The year of 2024 may be the year of a start of recovery from COVID, because by then there will be a lot more

people vaccinated, including children.
