I know many have entered Thailand recently via Emirates using the pass system, so are there any firsthand reports of whether or not Emirates requires outbound flight tickets for visa exempt entries?

 

Our plan is to enter from Spain after a week stopover in Dubai, so any information specifically about the requirements from Dubai would be especially appreciated.

 

I know of multiple methods to book refundable tickets (24 hours for any ticket to US, all Air France/KLM, etc.) but would prefer to avoid the refund hassles if possible.

Edit: also, how strict has Emirates been regarding the 7kg carry on (with no extra personal item!) requirement?  Are they still double weighing carry-ons?
