Now that is definitely a difference in the numbers the past 6 days, which the graph shows.  No rises except downward are going the numbers.  Where are the numbers from the prison shown, and what are the current Omicron numbers, why are they hiding things especially if they are trying to decide on canceling the Test N Go scheme?

Just how di she get infected from her husband, the pilot who had returned on the 26th of November, but the case was not isolated until weeks later.  What games are being played here and why?

[BREAKING] Local news are reporting that the government has approved of GETTING RID of TEST AND GO for arrivals to combat the spread of Omicron. Details to follow about what quarantine procedures we can expect.

#BREAKING: Thai PM

@prayutofficial

is revoking the (nearly) quarantine scheme for arriving travelers effective TODAY amidst the #Omicron variant. No new applications for the “Thailand Pass” will be accepted now.

(Cont.) All travelers that already have a “Thailand Pass” can center Thailand until Jan 10, 2021 - but have to undergo another (free) PCR test and quarantine for 7 days (not free). The “Phuket Sandbox” scheme is not effected by any changes.

@oc_ccsa

will re-evaluate on Jan 4.

No new applications to be accepted? What does that mean for those already approved? Grandfathered in, or canceled.  If canceled that leaves a lot of people in a major quandary. Life is very tenuous for those of us that have scheduled flights to return etc....

No testing, no cases, no clue where infections are in the community.

Won't change, ignorance is bliss.

With a pathetic 7% with boosters.

The optimists that think Thailand will be getting a normal high season could be waiting a few years.

Other countries have procured vaccines and delivered a booster campaign at speed.

Thailand still hasn't even double jabbed 70% of it's population by the end of 2021.

Really disappointing.

Yeah it's not that clear from the article when some of them tested positive (at the airport or later), although it IS clear that the Colombian and his wife were free to roam in Phuket for 14 days before testing positive.

I would imagine there is more than 1 person at high risk from this couple unless he (and his wife) stayed in their hotel room for 14 days voluntarily. I wonder why he didn't test positive at the airport and how many others slipped through the net and were asymptomatic.

In any case, it's clearly here now so it's only a matter of time before this blows up. I wouldn't rule out inter provincial travel being ruled out before New Year.

I think most of us know what games are being played, and why.

If confirmed, an unfortunate but somewhat inevitable situation with regards to the return of the quarantine just as bars/restaurants were starting to open up and tourists returning for Xmas/New Year. Good to see videos of tourists areas busy again for the festive period however long it lasts. .

More importantly, unfortunate for the people of Thailand and the economy who desperately need tourists to return in numbers as it is them who will be the real victims just as their optimism would have been increasing.

Let’s hope the restrictions are minimised where possible for their sake.

And that makes one wonder where they actually picked it up from. From abroad or in country...

So are you suggesting that maybe he or they did  not pick it up in Nigeria?

Nice to see a good drop from 41 cases yesterday. I would like to see this continue but feel that Omicron might scupper it.

Health officials on Tuesday (Dec 21) reported 27 new COVID-19 cases, 16 of which were found in Hua Hin.

Elsewhere in the province, 3 cases were found in Pranburi, zero cases in Sam Roi Yot, zero cases in Kuiburi, zero cases in Thap Sakae, 4 cases in Bang Saphan, 2 cases in Bang Saphan Noi, and 2 cases in Mueang Prachuap Khiri Khan. No new deaths were reported today.

The confirmed test and such were almost 2 weeks later, make your guestimate then as to how long prior to being tested they were infected.
